Algonquin college in Canada had
20,000 full-time students and 35,000 registrations in its continuing education
program, arts and technology needed to support its student population better.
The Registrar office receives almost or approximately 2,500 transcript
requests per term. However, they witnessed that the influx of resulting paper took
a lot of space and filling up the file cabinets. The paper forms would pile up
on the employees’ desk that showed a very bad reputation to the existing and
even new customers. Students had to wait
in a line to request their credit transfer exemptions and also carrying all
their physical documents with them it created a huge mess among the school and
the administration department.
Then the school decided to implement
Laserfiche software’s and they used “Enterprise content management” and “ECM”
to automate various and different processes within the registrar office. Now
students can apply for credit transfer exemptions on online through e- commerce
on the student portal. They fill out an electronic form and upload transcript
forms and also the course outlines.
